Superior Urgent Care on Gender Rd. in Canal Winchester

Occupational Health & Ohio BWC

Superior Urgent Care sees Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation injuries every day we are open, and every one of our providers is BWC certified. For an employer in Canal Winchester, Groveport, Pickerington or Columbus, that means an injured employee can be seen the same day, seven days a week, including weekends, by a provider who can handle the claim properly from the first visit. We also handle the rest of the occupational health list: DOT physicals, pre-employment physicals, and the drug and lab testing that goes with them. Our medical assistants are trained on insurance and billing detail, so the paperwork side of a work injury is not something you have to chase us for. We are independent, we are open every day, and we are easy to find on Gender Rd.

What We Do for Each of These

Ohio BWC Work Injuries

We see Ohio BWC work injuries every day we are open, and every one of our providers is BWC certified. That means the injury is documented properly from the first visit, including on a weekend, rather than being re-worked later because the first note did not support the claim.

Pre-Employment Physicals

Bring the packet your employer gave you. Drug screening, TB skin tests and any bloodwork they have asked for can be handled in the same visit, and we complete the paperwork while you are here.

DOT Physicals

DOT physicals for commercial drivers are walk-in, seven days a week, which is the point when your route does not stop for business hours.

How a Visit Works

  • Walk in, or save your spot — no appointment needed, seven days a week.
  • We check your coverage first — our medical assistants verify your insurance and explain your copay, coinsurance, deductible and out-of-pocket cost before you are seen.
  • You see a nurse practitioner — providers with extensive inpatient and outpatient experience, caring for patients from pediatric through geriatric.
  • Testing and follow-up stay with us — labs go to Quest Diagnostics, imaging is ordered at a nearby facility, and the results come back to the provider who saw you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a BWC certified provider?

Yes. All of our providers are certified to handle Ohio BWC work injuries, and we see them every day we are open.

Can an injured employee be seen on a weekend?

Yes. We are open Saturday and Sunday from 9:30am to 5:30pm, so a Saturday injury does not have to wait until Monday.

Do you do DOT physicals?

Yes. Walk in or save your spot online. Bring your photo ID, your glasses or contacts if you wear them, and a list of any medications you take.

Do you have X-ray on site?

No. We order outpatient imaging at a nearby facility when an injury calls for it, and the results come back to us so the follow-up stays here.
