Lab & Testing

Superior Urgent Care works with Quest Diagnostics, one of the largest reference laboratories in the country. In practical terms that means we are not limited to a handful of rapid tests: if a test exists, we can almost certainly order it, and the results come back to the provider who saw you. We draw bloodwork, run screenings, and handle confidential STI testing and treatment. If your primary care provider ordered labs and you cannot get in to have them drawn, you can have them done here instead, seven days a week. Rapid testing for the common things — strep, flu, COVID-19, urinary tract infections — happens during your visit. Everything else goes out to Quest and comes back to us. Our medical assistants will verify your insurance and explain what testing will cost you before it is drawn.

What We Do for Each of These

COVID-19 Testing

Rapid COVID-19 testing runs in house, seven days a week, with the result before you leave. If a confirmatory PCR is the right call, that goes to Quest and the provider follows up with you.

Bloodwork and Lab Testing

Because Quest Diagnostics is our reference lab, we are not limited to a handful of rapid tests. If a test exists, we can almost certainly order it — routine panels through to specialty work — and the results come back to the provider who saw you rather than to a practice you have never met.

STI Testing and Treatment

Some STI testing we do in house, with the result the same visit. Everything else goes to Quest, which offers the full range of tests with quick turnaround, and treatment is handled here once the result is back. You do not need to be an established patient and you do not need an appointment.

How a Visit Works

  • Walk in, or save your spot — no appointment needed, seven days a week.
  • We check your coverage first — our medical assistants verify your insurance and explain your copay, coinsurance, deductible and out-of-pocket cost before you are seen.
  • You see a nurse practitioner — providers with extensive inpatient and outpatient experience, caring for patients from pediatric through geriatric.
  • Testing and follow-up stay with us — labs go to Quest Diagnostics, imaging is ordered at a nearby facility, and the results come back to the provider who saw you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What lab do you use?

Quest Diagnostics. It is one of the largest reference labs in the country, which means access to effectively any test available rather than a short in-house menu.

Is STI testing confidential?

Yes. Testing and treatment are handled confidentially, the same as any other visit.

Can you draw labs my own doctor ordered?

Yes. Bring the order with you and we can draw them here, including on a weekend.

How fast are results?

Rapid tests such as strep, flu and COVID-19 come back during your visit. Anything sent to Quest comes back to the provider who saw you, and we contact you with the results.
