Independent Care in Canal Winchester

Superior Urgent Care is an independent walk-in clinic on Gender Rd. in Canal Winchester. We are open seven days a week for urgent care and primary care, and we see patients from Canal Winchester, Groveport, Pickerington, Columbus, Reynoldsburg, Lithopolis and the surrounding communities.

Being independent changes how a visit goes. There is no system routing you somewhere else, and the provider who sees you is the one who follows up with you. Our providers are board certified family nurse practitioners with extensive inpatient and outpatient experience, caring for patients from pediatric through geriatric, and together they bring more than 50 years of medical experience into the building.

We Fill the Gap When Primary Care Cannot

A lot of people do not have a primary care doctor, and plenty of people who do cannot get an appointment for weeks. We manage chronic illness, refill common primary care medications, order and interpret bloodwork, and send referrals out to specialists. You do not need to be an established patient and you do not need an appointment.

A Real Lab Behind Us

We work with Quest Diagnostics, one of the largest reference laboratories in the country. In practical terms that means we are not limited to a short menu of rapid tests — if a test exists, we can almost certainly order it, and the results come back to the provider who saw you. We do not perform imaging on site; when you need an X-ray we write the order for a nearby outpatient facility and the results come back to us, so your follow-up still happens here.

The Parts Nobody Talks About

Our medical assistants are trained on insurance verification and on explaining copay, coinsurance, deductible and out-of-pocket cost, so you know what a visit will cost before you have it. We are in network with most carriers and offer flexible self-pay options. We see veterans through the VA Community Care Network, seven days a week, and we handle Ohio BWC work injuries every day with providers who are all BWC certified.

Russian and Ukrainian are spoken in the clinic. The providers who speak them are not in every day, so call (614) 829-3015 to check before you come in. And the waiting room has new furniture, coffee, water and healthy snacks — though with our wait times, you may not get far into the coffee.
